CCR Draft #4
4. How did you integrate technologies- software, hardware and online- in this product?
Technology was a necessity when doing this project. Before we actually could make the magazine we used Word to put the planning together and make a draft of our project. After using the Word to make a planning sheet I used my Nikon camera to go to events and take pictures. The Camera was a critical part of this project and provided, in my opinion, great quality pictures. To keep track of my progress I blogged on Blogger.com on Gmail which was a user friendly website. When putting together a magazine we used Canva.com because they provided templates that were able to change enough to make it our own design. The website allowed for several different ways to make our magazine unique compared to the other magazines. We advertised our magazine on Instagram and we used our Smart phones to communicate and access the social media account.

CCR Draft #3
3. How did your production skills develop throughout this product?
Through out the production my team and I were faced with a lot of tasks and situations that we had never encountered. The first biggest issue was not knowing how to properly take pictures of something and make it look good and even more importantly we didn't know how to take good quality pictures of action shots. After talking to others who had to take pictures for AICE Media studies in the past and having my teacher help me understand the settings on the camera i used. Scheduling photo shoots was a feat of its own. I had to set up a couple different photo shoots to get an array of photos. I was able to develop magazine production skills. Through out the magazine production i was able to produce a magazine company on a smaller scale and develop how a magazine goes through production and distribution and the tools used to promote the magazine.

CCR Draft #2
2. How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real media text?
My magazine engages multiple audiences for different reasons. Our magazine provides multiple perspective photos that will engage the audience and shows an array of color and action shots. We've created a social media platform that will share sneak peaks into our magazine and some exclusive and behind the scenes footage and photos. We are using Instagram as our social media platform to reach a younger audience who would be interested in the Sarasota High magazine as well as the adults who know how to use and consistently use social media.
Our plan is to use Grandeur to distribute our magazine locally throughout our area. They will create publicity through our community and provide a larger following. On top of using the distribution company I plan on selling our magazines at sporting events and using our school newspaper to advertise our magazine.Though physical distribution is a good method of selling our magazines, we understand that the shift from physical distribution to electronic distribution has become widely poplar. Like a lot of magazine distributors such as Sorts Illustrated and ESPN magazine, we will have a link in our social media platform, Instagram, to take viewers to a link to buy either a physical or electronic subscription.

CCR Draft #1
1. How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues?
My product uses the conventions of multiple successful sports magazines. As a group we looked to model ESPN magazine and Sports Illustrated magazine due to the popularity of the two. Our magazines all incorporated a cover shot of people playing the sport that was ideal to the magazine. The name of the magazine "Sailor Seasonal" was bold and at the top like Sports illustrated and ESPN magazine do. Our colors of the magazine are mainly orange and black because our school colors would appeal to the audience we are trying to attract. We found that since sports magazines are known to be bought and sold to more men, the setup was more bold to attract attention of the male audience. We also found symmetry was appealing to look at and was incorporated within our table of contents. The magazines issues were separated by seasons/quarterly to adhere to the the sports theme and audience. We separated the issues into Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer season to give us enough time to fill the magazine with content. Like other sports magazines we tried to incorporate multiple shots from different angles.
